Seven questions to ask a provider.

A practical checklist for looking at care, costs and what happens after the first order.

A low headline price leaves plenty of important questions unanswered. Take this list to the provider before committing.

  1. Who is responsible for my care? Ask for the prescribing service, dispensing pharmacy and the relevant registration details.
  2. How is suitability assessed? Find out how the service checks your history and current medicines, and who reviews them.
  3. What exactly does the quoted price include? Confirm the product, quantity, supply period, consultation, delivery and additional fees.
  4. Who can I contact between orders? Ask how clinical questions and side effects are handled, including out-of-hours arrangements.
  5. What am I committing to? Check renewal, cancellation, pauses and any early-exit charges.
  6. What happens if treatment changes? Ask how the service manages a prescription change, an unsuitable treatment or an unavailable product.
  7. What support continues afterwards? Clarify follow-up, records and the limits of any included support.

A provider's own statement of registration is a starting point. Confirm the relevant organisation and professional details with the appropriate official register. This directory has not completed those checks for every listing.
